Jennifer is a Licensed Social Worker and Psychotherapist at Weatherstone Counseling Institute, where she’s been proudly supporting clients since 2022. She earned her Master of Social Work degree from Aurora University in 2023 and her Bachelor of Science degree in Rehabilitation and Disability Services, with a minor in Psychology, from Northern Illinois University in 2018.
Jennifer brings a strong foundation in trauma-informed care, shaped by years of experience in crisis intervention and therapeutic support in the community mental health setting. She began her career at Family Counseling Service in Aurora in 2021, where she is currently a clinical program manager. Formerly a legal advocate at Safe Passage, she has worked closely with survivors of domestic and sexual violence, helping them navigate both emotional healing and the complexities of the legal system.
Fluent in Spanish, Jennifer is passionate about creating a safe and welcoming space for clients from diverse backgrounds. She specializes in inclusive, culturally responsive care and draws from evidence-based approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). She also has extensive training and experience in play therapy, allowing her to connect meaningfully with younger clients and those who benefit from nonverbal expression.
Jennifer offers therapy both in person and via telehealth, making support accessible and flexible for every client’s needs.
